Pilates Classes

Pilates are a great way to help build strength, flexibility and balance. Pilates compliment recovery from injury and pain and are especially beneficial if you have experienced back pain.

Joe Pilates believed that by concentrating on precision of movement, awareness of breath control and a continued flowing movement, the exerciser will be able to alter abnormal patterns of movement and achieve a carry over effect into daily function.

What are the benefits?

What does it involve?

Here at Physio Solutions, Aoife, an athletic trainer, delivers our Pilates classes. We offer classes to suit all levels, from beginner to intermediate and advanced.

We advise you to have an initial individual assessment with a Chartered Physiotherapist to assess your needs & introduce the basics of Pilates, either as part of your normal treatment or in a specific session.

Classes run once weekly in blocks of 7 weeks with the option of doing more than one class per week. Classes run for 60 minutes and are all run by an athletic trainer trained and experienced in leading pilates classes of the highest standard.

We stick to small class sizes, to ensure everyone in the class is carrying out the exercise safely and correctly and allowing modification of exercises to accommodate any injury, restriction, or difficulty you may have.

What do I need to bring?

Comfortable clothing is essential, preferably what you normally wear for exercise e.g. tracksuit, shorts, t-shirt.
Optional items include water bottle, towel and your own mat if preferred.
