Sports Injuries

Sports injuries

Sports injuries are one of the most common things we see at Physio Solutions. There are many different reasons why these injuries happen and its often not as simple as ‘I didn’t stretch properly’. In fact stretching has been shown to be a poor injury prevention activity.

While many acute or traumatic sports injuries can get better with a little rest and a gradual return to activity, many do not and can lead to persistent problems. Pain can go away only to return once you recommence your activity, or can lead to extended periods on the sidelines.

At Physio Solutions we specialise in treating acute and chronic persistent injuries. We can accurately diagnose your injury, identify any potential factors that may have contributed to this injury developing and provide you with the treatment and rehabilitation that you require to get you back doing the things you love. We have a full rehabilitation gym on site so we can give you the most comprehensive care possible.

We see a variety of athletes of all ages and levels from inter county GAA stars to international athletes to weekend warriors and people who are just getting back into activity.

Some of the most common sports injuries we see include;

  • Running injuries (stress fractures, Shin splints runners knee)
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Patellofemoral Joint Pain
  • Hamstring, Calf and Quadriceps muscle strains or tears

Sports Injuries

When inflammation subsides, We can offer a comprehensive treatment plan so you can get back to the field as soon as possible without pain or the fear of re-injury.

 For chronic injuries you may be suitable for one of our supervised gym based rehab classes. This is especially relevant for rehabilitation following ACL surgery and we provide some of the best post surgery rehabilitation in the South East. We aim to get our Athletes back to the field stronger and fitter than they were before their injury occurred.
