Back & Neck Pain
Neck pain is very common and, in most cases, it is not a serious problem. Generally targeted physiotherapy can diagnose and therefore help improve your neck pain.
The neck is formed by 7 bones called the cervical vertebrae. These bones together with the muscles of the neck allow you to move your head in all directions. Between the bones there is an intervertebral disc which act as shock absorbers.
The spinal cord that runs down your spine branches of nerve routes which are responsible for allowing movement of your arms and hands.
This also sends sensations back to the brain such as pain and touch which is why sometimes neck pain can cause symptoms to run into the hand and arm.
What causes Neck Pain?
The disc acts as a shock absorber between the bones in the neck. In cervical disc degeneration (which typically occurs in people age 40 years and older), the normal gelatin-like centre of the disc loses water content and height causing the space between the vertebrae to narrow. As the disc space narrows, added stress is applied to the joints of the spine causing further wear and degenerative disease. The cervical disc may also protrude and put pressure on the spinal cord or nerve roots. This is known as a herniated cervical disc
- Whiplash
- Poor posture
- Cervical spondylosis. This is essentially Osteoarthritis of the spine which is common especially as we age. It is important to keep your neck moving and not to stiffen up if this is the case
- Tension stress can cause us to have painful headaches
- Cervical Disc Degeneration

What our customers saying about ?
Posted on Google Suzann MurphyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I cannot recommend this practice enough. Earlier this year I attended Physio Solutions for physiotherapy with Adrian for considerable hip pain I'd been experiencing. Having had poor results from physiotherapy elsewhere over the years, I was sceptical about going. However, after only 2-3 sessions with Adrian I was literally pain free. I was delighted with the result having suffered with the hip pain for almost 9 months. Since then, on two separate occasions for other pain issues I've attended physiotherapy with Adrian and each time was pain free following 2-3 sessions. It's a beautiful practice with excellent facilities including their own fully equipped gym. The online booking system is fantastic, and so easy to use. Adrian is so knowledgeable in his field, and his professionalism is exemplary. Pain can be so debilitating, and I'd like to thank Adrian so much for achieving such great results. I wish Physio Solutions the very best for the future!!Posted on Google Colin KilgannonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Can't wait to get back therePosted on Google Kika ChaosTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. very helpful staff, beautiful, clean rooms. Maybe the patients themselves could be more considerate of other incoming patients, and park according to the rules. The recklessness and audacity of some ill-mannered people knows no bounds. In this case, it was a lady who was still looking at how she parked and did not fix it at all.Posted on Google EM FTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The team have been a great help over the past few years having treated various sporting injuries. Great flexible service and very knowledgeable and caring staff with second to none aftercare - I always received a video after my appointments to show me the exercises to do for my rehab. Would highly recommend Adrian and the team 😊Posted on Google Gillian KeoghTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would highly recommend Physio Solutions. I had two sessions with Katelyn to help my lower back pain. She was brilliant and very knowledgeable. She also helped me by showing me how to do pilates safely. The practice itself and gym is spotless and very modern.Posted on Google Johnny Red (YNWA)Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I went here with shoulder pain and not a lot of movement. Enda was the physio that I got to see, straight away after talking and trying a few movements he told me I had what's called frozen shoulder. After some physio from him and four different exercises to do for two weeks I went back feeling a bit better. So more physio and different exercises and stretches and back again and feeling better. Enda is very good at his job explains everything so well and also sends you your exercises by email which are very easy to follow after 4 visit I am 90% back to normal. So these final few exercises and I'm back 100% Thanks a million Enda 👍🤸🤾🏋️. Top manPosted on Google MJ FitzhenryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Would highly recommend Physio Solutions Gorey. They were a pleasure to deal with and flexible with appointments. Nicole was very pleasant, thorough and professional. Her treatments were effective and the pain in my back improved session by session.Posted on Google Susan NolanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Predicament - defined as a difficult, unpleasant, or embarrassing situation. At 3 months pregnant I went to Adrian with some hip pain in my left side. He said sneerily that in my "predicament" there wasnt a lot he could do. Needless to say I never went back. Really upset me. He also had me sit on all fours and do thrusts while he watched. Really not a nice thing for a pregnant 36 year woman to have to do. Avoid at all costs. EDIT I had no intent on reposting, I just fixed a typo and it posted as a new one today. Yes, it was 2019, but I see your ability to apologise hasn't improved since 2019 either by your comment.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
